AGUACARES PROGRAM

El Paso Water customers who are seniors (64+) facing financial hardship and at risk of being disconnected from water service. EP Water will provide a referral to Amistad, which manages the AguaCares Program and can provide the following services:

Money Management Counseling Programs – Helping customers in managing their monthly household income and expenses

Payment Arrangements – Acting as an agent to work with EPWater to develop a payment plan for eligible customers to prevent disconnection.

Conservation Support – Assist in the distribution household water efficient fixtures to help eligible clients to save water and money.

Agency Referrals – Provide referrals to other agencies or services that appear to match the needs of a given customer.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 64 or older and facing financial hardship
• Must have an active and verifiable account with the utility company
