Amistad Celebrates 45 Years of Service with Donation Drive-thru Birthday Parade
El Paso, TX— Amistad is celebrating 45 years of serving the community and will be hosting a Donation Drive-thru Birthday Parade on Friday, April 23 from noon to 1:30 PM, to raise funds for the agency.
Amistad has been serving El Paso and Far West Texas for 45 years through a variety of social service and transportation programs for persons with disabilities, the elderly, veterans and persons at-risk.
“Throughout the pandemic, Amistad’s doors have remained open and has provided COVID-19 relief and assistance to our community,” said Andrea Ramirez, Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to be that beacon of hope and wrap our wings around the community, as we navigate through these challenging times.”
In the last twelve months, Amistad has provided COVID-19 transportation for clients who need to continue their life-saving medical treatments, provided utility assistance to over 2,500 families to keep their basic services connected, and since the vaccines rollout, provided transportation for hundreds of elderly residents to vaccination sites.
The community is invited to celebrate and support Amistad’s Mission by donating any monetary amount at the Donation Drive-thru Birthday Parade. The first 100 people will receive an Amistad themed cookie and a promotional bag as a thank-you. Donations may also be made online at www.projectamistad.org/donate. All funds will go towards Amistad’s Client Health and Welfare Fund, which helps support social service programs.
